Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into small florets
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets.
  • In a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the garlic, onion, and ginger, and cook for 30 seconds to a minute, until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the pan and use a spatula to break up the clumps.
  • Stir fry the beef until it's browned and most of the moisture has cooked away, for about 7-9 minutes.
  • Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the cooked beef and stir together.
  • If the pan is getting too dry, add a splash of water to help steam the broccoli and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
  • Once the broccoli is tender and slightly charred, add the soy sauce and oyster sauce, and continue to stir fry.
  • Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil over the top of the stir fry, and give it one last toss to fully incorporate all of the flavors.
  • Serve hot over white rice or noodles, garnished with sliced scallions, chopped cilantro, or sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.
