Wash and cut the broccoli into small florets.
In a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
Once the oil is hot, add the garlic, onion, and ginger, and cook for 30 seconds to a minute, until fragrant.
Add the ground beef to the pan and use a spatula to break up the clumps.
Stir fry the beef until it's browned and most of the moisture has cooked away, for about 7-9 minutes.
Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the broccoli florets to the cooked beef and stir together.
If the pan is getting too dry, add a splash of water to help steam the broccoli and prevent it from sticking to the pan.
Once the broccoli is tender and slightly charred, add the soy sauce and oyster sauce, and continue to stir fry.
Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil over the top of the stir fry, and give it one last toss to fully incorporate all of the flavors.
Serve hot over white rice or noodles, garnished with sliced scallions, chopped cilantro, or sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.
