Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes peeled and chopped into small pieces
  • 4 garlic cloves minced or roasted
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork, about 15-20 minutes.
  • While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced or roasted garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the garlic butter, milk or cream, salt, and black pepper.
  • Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or electric mixer until they are smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency with additional milk or cream if needed.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
  • Optional: You can also sprinkle chopped fresh chives or grated Parmesan cheese on top of the mashed potatoes for added flavor and visual appeal.
