Bread Pudding Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 cups cubed day-old bread about 1 loaf
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream caramel sauce, fresh berries, chocolate chips, raisins, nuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Spread the bread cubes evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes, making sure to cover all the bread.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread mixture.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread pudding is set.
  • Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  • Optional: Serve with whipped cream, caramel sauce, fresh berries, chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts.
