Homemade Pickle Juice Recipe

This homemade pickle juice recipe is a tangy brine made from vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and various spices and herbs, with a distinct sweet, sour and salty flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the water, white vinegar, salt, and sugar.
  • Add the mustard seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, and bay leaf to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar and salt are fully dissolved.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  • Strain the pickle juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Store the pickle juice in the fridge until ready to use.
