Servings: 2 servings
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Black pepper a pinch
- Ground nutmeg (optional) a pinch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp honey
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat until it is warm but not boiling. Stir occasionally to prevent a film from forming.
In a bowl, mix together the ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, black pepper, and ground nutmeg (if using).
Once the milk is warm, add a teaspoon of the warm milk to the spice mixture, and mix well. Pour the milky spice paste into the saucepan and whisk well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse into milk. Stir occasionally to prevent burning, and don’t leave the boiling milk unattended.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Add honey to taste. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved.
Serve hot with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon on top.
