Eggless Chocolate Cake Recipe
Moist, rich, and decadent, this eggless chocolate cake recipe yields the most indulgent slice of pure chocolate heaven.
For the cake:
- 1 ¾ cups cake flour
- ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ cup castor sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
For the icing:
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 tablespoons milk buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 ¾ cups icing sugar sifted
For the cake:
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add vinegar to milk then add in oil and vanilla essence. Add to dry ingredients and beat well with a mixer. Pour into a 20cm greased and lined ring cake pan.
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Remove and cool.
