For the filling:

- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed

- A pinch of salt
For the topping:
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup butter cold and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ ground nutmeg
For the filling:
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, lemon juice, vanilla extract, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Toss the mixture until the apples are evenly coated.
